For the next two weeks during the Australian Open, a Wristpect Sport favorite, Bethanie Mattek-Sands will be partnered up with Sabine Lisicki of Germany. Mattek-Sands and Lisicki won their doubles opener against a dangerous Polish duo of Kania and doubles specialist Jans-Ignacik. The score was 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. The German-American duo staged a late comeback, barely surviving the Poles. Since Mattek-Sands’ usual doubles partner, Safarova, is recovering from an injury, she has chosen the former Wimbledon-Finalist Lisicki to play with her in Australia. Lisicki has had some major doubles success, making the Wimbledon finals with Sam Stosur and winning the Miami Open with Hingis. Lisicki is also an accomplished singles player too, reaching a career high of 12. Mattek-Sands having won the Australian Open last year in doubles, had an overall amazing year of doubles in 2015, winning other Grand Slams too. With Lisicki’s firepower at the baseline and Mattek-Sands’ hands at the net, they could be a threat to anyone, and may even go all the way.

At such a young age he exudes a wonderful spirit and clearly has talents both in writing and tennis! We're excited to see more stories from Aidan along with tennis' fashion and firepower (Aidan's descriptive) during the Australian AND the rest of the 2016 tennis season.)
