Matchy-Matchy: Tennis Partners and Matching Tennis attire

Hair appointments, nail appointments AND doctors appointments are ALL important but so is matching your tennis apparel to your overall vibe and entire ensemble!

The image below is proof that using your matching creativity in sport fashion can start by using any detail as your launching point:

Even wristbands and nails can be paired!

But when did matching sport apparel start for us?

Uhm...when did matching sport apparel and accessories start for me?

My #1 favorite team uniform-- etched in my mind-- stretches all the way back to my youth softball team! We were, The Purple People Eaters! We had purple (my favorite color) and yellow jersey's and hats. Oddly enough, we didn't get pants! We had to wear our own jeans or such and used only sneakers (no fancy cleats, etc). But we all matched to a large degree and took pride in the groovy colors that made us feel like a real team!

Fast forward several years...high school tennis brought thick, white polyester skirts and tops that were a bit scratchy---definitely matchy-- but not that fashionable!  And, the orange and black nylon and jersey lined jacket did not super enhance our overall look either, nor did the thirty seven layers --of our own personal clothing---we had to wear to manage the Chicago-land weather! But we made a statement in our loud orange and black. We were the Wildcats!

College tennis stepped it up a notch when Reebok, and other manufacturers  began suppling apparel, accessories and shoes to scholarship collegiate athletes and teams. Our Kansas tennis team-- and every girl on it --were fortunate to receive matching red and blue Reebok track suites! And our white skirts and tops were all emblazoned with the festive Jayhawk bird logo. White wristbands with a Reebok logo patch were also supplied along with the final perk---FREE white Reebok tennis shoes whenever we needed a fresh pair!

Now, did you think I was going to share a bunch of dorky pictures of myself? Heck no! But you can see, I did have a variety of colors to either work with-- or contend with during my journey in sports!

Currently, I enjoy watching how tennis sport fashion is continuing to change at the pro, rec and league levels. It's interesting to see how overall tennis teams and doubles partners build their overall look through matching colors, while peppering in a bit of individualism.

Take a look at how these players match colors and textures to the vibe of their outfits. Even our Wristpect Sport shirts and tanks become matchy-matchy for match day!

And while we're on the subject of matchy-matchy...are you winning your matches? And are you lighting up the court with not only your matching fashion but with a positive attitude and vibe that is unmatched?
