Jamilah Nicole Snells - rising national junior tennis player

Wristpect Sport athlete Jamilah Snells

Twelve year old Jamilah Snells reached out to Wristpect Sport by way of her father, Gary. Makes sense, she is after all, only twelve 'and change'. We learned quickly that she has been a sports gal since very young, splitting time between playing on a premiere soccer club AND moving through the ranks of junior tennis at a clip that seems at the least, riveted. At the ripe age of 6 she was being coached by Andrei Kozlov. Between Andrei's coaching and her will, she promptly began entering National level tennis events starting in 2013. And, has been blazing a trail since...

Jamilah's stats:

We got a real sense for Jamilah's sprit when we found out she has a nickname of 'Jam' while one of her doubles partners takes on the name, 'Jelly!' And while we're talking food, we've learned Jamilah likes beef ribs, gumbo and sushi! It's clear, her fast path and hectic travel schedule have helped her cultivate an open-mind to a variety of foods. We respect that!

Jamilah attends Sagemont Academy in Weston Florida. Like her athletic accomplishments, she rises to the top with her grades and receives straight A's in Advanced math and science!

Meet Imogen Magner, a 16 year old Brit who currently lives in Barcelona, Spain. Recently she traveled to Bradenton, FL to practice. Imogen trained with John Eagleton in Bradenton at the Inspiration Academy. John is helping Imogen to develop a powerful forehand and serve.

Imogen's Tennis & Sport Stats:

  • Right hander living in Barcelona, Spain
  • International rank of 39 for players in Spain
  • ITF Junior rank of 1182

Whilst  in the UK Imogen is going to train for a couple of days at The Leander Rowing club in Henley upon Thames and for a week at The Sutton Tennis Academy near London. We applaud her work efforts and are excited for her that she has the opportunity to train and play very competitively in two sports!

We also give a big thanks to Imogen for her and her 'Mum's' loyal support of our brand! Together they keep us updated with regular emails and pictures and make time to follow our social media. This means the world and draws a sponsor like Wristpect Sport closer to their athletes!

Felix Mischker - Rising International Tennis Star

Felix Mischker- Wristpect Sport Ambassador

Social media serves a higher purpose when it unites people, even if living 'across the pond.' And that's just what happened when we started following a family's journey of their two adorable boys playing junior tennis in Great Britain (and beyond) via Instagram.

We immediatley took note of Felix Mischker's high level tennis ability as his friendly genuine gaze- at- camera reached out to us with each Instagram photo his father posted. Just from those photos, Felix seemed to be inviting us further into his tennis journey with his simple boyish ways and solid bond with his brother Lucian. Interestingly and appropriately, a mutual respect grew from those pictures and now Felix is one of our very own Wristpect Sport athletes to watch!

At just 11 years old, Felix lives and breaths tennis in Great Britain. He prefers to play aggressive tennis utilizing both his first serve and forehand as his most prominent “weapons”. Felix loves competition and enjoys playing lots of tournaments.

 Felix's Stats:

  • Right handed
  • Current country rank-  #26 Great Britain Boys 12&U
  • AEGON Future Star 2013, 2014, 2015
  • LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) funded player & national camp squad member
  • Currently trains at Junior Tennis Coaching (JTC) facility-Riverside Health & Racquets Club Northwood/England
  • First international tournament win was at the International Junior Dunlop Open in Leverkusen / Germany

Felix is also a great all round athlete who recently competed at the 4X100 national Great Britain final achieving 4th place. From tennis to running and soccer, Felix enjoys all types of athletics. We look forward to getting more time with Felix; and with his laser focus on his dream, a trip to Wimbledon may be in order for all of us in the near future?

Katy Gehring- accomplished junior tennis player

Katy Gehring- accomplished junior tennis player

Katy is a local to our Wristpect Sport headquarters offices in North Texas. We always welcome and cherish supporting hometown folk and athletes like her; it's a win-win for everyone. Similar to some of our own WS employees, we're particularly fond of the fact that Katy started tennis a little on the 'later' side (compared to the 'norm' for junior tennis). Since her start at age 11, Katy continues training and competing:

Katy's Stats:

  • Right hander living in North Texas area
  • USTA Champ level
  • High school Varsity tennis team
  • Finalist in high school district
  • Semi-finalist in regional competition

We're proud of the fact that like all of our WS athletes, Katy is also a high academic achiever (top 6% in her high school and Texas schools are BIG!). And, it's not surprising that Katy embraces volunteer work with her family--a group of super grounded and humble people.

Thank you Katy for your adorable alluring looks, athleticism and for making photo shoots fun!

Harry Ray-Saunders

Wristpect Sport Athlete Harry Ray Saunders   Wristpect Sport Athlete Harry Ray Saunders

13 year old Harry Ray-Saunders has that 3 part name 'thing' going for him (think, Billie Jean King, Jo 'Willy' Tsonga, etc) that already makes him sound like an accomplished pro athlete and household name for sure! And, Harry Ray-Saunders (see, we like typing that) seems to be willing to work at making his dream of being a professional tennis player a reality.

What gets us about Harry is his 'late start' in tennis (age 11) yet his immediate commitment to the game. That commitment and longing to succeed is delivering impressive results in the junior ranks.

Harry's Stats:

  • Right Hander - Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK
  • British Tennis rating, 6.1
  • Yorkshire County Rating (Boys U14): #10 / National rank, #277
  • Trains at both Batley Tennis Centre and Queens Sports Club
  • Coaching from Laurence Kelly (former LTA National Coach who coached GB's boys team when Andy Murray played for GB)
  • Attended La Manga Tennis Academy, Spain

Because of our own familiarity with busy schedules, while playing high level junior tennis and sports in our past, we can now appreciate the time and effort parents, and dear old 'Mum' (as our lovely British mothers refer to themselves as) put into their junior athletes. Harry's mother, Jo, is a tennis player herself who put the game aside in her teens. But as she began carting Harry to and fro to a multitude of tennis facilitates, she decided to get back into the game both on and off court. Jo trained with the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) to become a referee and has gone on to create Baseline Tennis with Laurence Kelly and Ellis Ward to make junior tennis more accessible to children at a young age.

Like our other Wristpect Sport athletes, Harry is a very good student in school and is in the top set for all of his subjects. Harry is locked in on tennis and has committed himself to spending time in the gym to further develop a greater overall fitness level.
